News and photos from the Weymouth Weekend 2017

We’re now home after a fantastic weekend of fun and dancing. The music was great, the entertainment was first class and the workshops were brilliant

On Friday night we danced to New Loco who were new to us. They were an excellent duo and they kept most of us on the floor dancing alongside Karl-Harry Winson who was to be our guest choreographer at the Saturday morning Workshop.

Award winning choreographer Karl-Harry taught us 5 new dances during the course  of the Saturday morning workshop. Details of the dances can be found below. It was a wonderful experience and after all the ladies had recovered from his stunning good looks and charming personality we managed to learn all 5.
Also Ray taught us Babylon and Janis taught Shake Rattle and Quake. Great dances, the details of which are also below.

Saturday night was the Halloween theme disco and we all had a terrific time.  Michael Jackson turned up but to everyone’s shock and surprise it turned out to be Ray. The costumes were very imaginative and lots of fun. Urban Line Dance’s Sharon Hepworth won the Ladies’ prize and John Hannard won the men’s prize.  Take a look at their photo’s below and see if you know who they were supposed to be. The “Couples” prize was won by 2 ladies from another group who were dressed as witches. I don’t know their names but if I can find out I’ll let you know.

During the Sunday Workshop Ray and Janis took us through all the new dances we’d done on Saturday, to consolidate what we had learnt.

The ever popular Calico entertained us on Sunday night and as usual they were brilliant. They never disappoint and our event was no exception.

The Hotel Prince Regent was the venue for the weekend, we were made very welcome, the food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
